Tuesday's Top Tip - Make your own Spool Felts

Hold a coin firmly in place against a piece of felt and cut around it.

A 10p coin is the perfect size.

Fold the felt circle into quarters and snip off the point.  Yes, I know the picture is fuzzy.  Just like the felt.

Time taken - less than it takes for the kettle to boil for a cup of tea.
Cost - a minute fraction of the coin you cut around

  1. Hi Muv

I've just spent a few productive minutes following your instructions to kit out my 28K and 201k with spool pin felts. While doing this I began to wonder why my 28k has two spool pins. Do you happen to know?

    Best wishes

  2. Hello G,

The idea was that you could have two reels of thread and wind a bobbin while you were sewing. I've tried it. It makes sewing a bit heavy going, and for the amount of time you save I didn't think it was worth the fuss, but it's worth trying for the lark.
